Mr. Burstein is a certified planner with a master of urban and regional planning degree from the University of Colorado. He has been with ARC since 2002 and has 22 years of experience in regional, community and urban design-related planning. He has expertise in long-range and interjurisdictional planning, and a strong background in quantitative analysis, policy analysis and code writing.
Mr. Burstein has been project manager for many comprehensive planning projects for cities and counties throughout the state. He provides demographic growth analyses for a wide range of projects, including space needs assessments and facility programs for local, county and tribal projects, as well as educational planning projects. He has managed the development of land use code and zoning and contributed economic analyses to a commercial services plan for Glacier National Park.
Previously, Mr. Burstein was director of the City of Santa Fe/Santa Fe County Regional Planning Authority and worked at the Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments.
