NCARB Web-Publishes ARC's Article about Post-Occupancy Evaluation
Added February 26, 2018

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) has published ARC's article, ''Indicative Post-Occupancy Evaluation: New Mexico K-12 Public School Districts'' on its web page. John P. Petronis, Faye Whittemore, and Sayre Gerhart were the authors.

The introduction observes:

Although cursory in nature, an indicative post-occupancy evaluation (POE) provides an indication of the major failures and successes in a building’s performance, and points to issues that deserve further, more in-depth investigation.

Through the use of a case study analysis, this course reviews the indicative POE process, evaluation criteria, and lessons learned in the use of an indicative POE. Also reviewed are the key strategies used to reveal the administrative and architectural changes necessary to improve an evolving system using an indicative POE.
