ARC received the 2004 award for county comprehensive
planning from the New Mexico Chapter of the American Planning Association
for the Guadalupe County Comprehensive Plan.
Guadalupe County selected Architectural Research Consultants, Incorporated
(ARC) to prepare its first comprehensive plan to address the broad
issues of providing services to its residents.
Elements of the plan developed by ARC address land
use, economic development, transportation, housing, and infrastructure/public
facilities. Guadalupe County residents are proud and optimistic
about the assets of the county — its people, history and environmental
qualities. Policy themes of the plan are to preserve the treasures
and historic assets of the county, promote positive growth, promote
farming and ranching, and locate development in identified growth
areas.
The plan sets long-range priorities for facilities
in a way that supports the five-year Infrastructure Capital Improvements
Program.
