John Petronis, ARC President and Edith Cherry, Cherry/See Architects, Contribute to
Whole Building Design Guide

John Petronis and Edie Cherry have been invited to contribute to the design discipline page of the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG). WBDG was conceived in 1997 by a small group of participants from the Naval Facility Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Criteria Office and the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC). Sponsored by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), WBDG is a Web-based living resource for educating and informing architects, engineers, and project managers about sustainable, or environmentally sound design. As a single point-of-entry internet resource, it provides up-to-date information on a wide range of federal and private sector building-related guidance, criteria and technology from the "whole building" perspective. In this perspective, delivery team members work together from the onset of a project and consider all design objectives in concert with each other.

Mr. Petronis and Ms. Cherry will co-author a section on design programming which will describe the process for including in the definition of the project scope all parties affected by the building design.
